Ever wondered what would happen if those green army men from Toy Story got their hands on actual weapons? Well, thanks to Call of Duty: WWII's new Days of Summer event, you can find out. Sort of.

Days of Summer brings with it a new map known as Sandbox, which funnily enough is an actual sandbox. If that wasn't enough, you'll be playing as little green army men and slugging it out around sandcastles, trenches, and plastic shovels.

Keep an eye out for Captain Butcher though, a dastardly fellow that will attempt to melt your pint-sized soldiers with a magnifying glass. What an evil sod.

Elsewhere, Days of Summer also brings back the popular Leprechaun Hunt and aerial dogfighting game mode, plus a bunch of weapons and gear all in the spirit of summer, which to be frank has been bloody marvellous here in Blighty.

Well, okay, it's not that great when the air con isn't working properly here at VideoGamer Towers, but other than that, it's swell.

Call of Duty: WWII's Days of Summer event is available now and runs until August 28. The game's third slice of DLC is now available to download if you haven't already done so.
