Activision has announced the release date for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2; it’s coming to consoles and PC on October 28th, 2022.

Activision revealed this date with a big cargo ship at the Port of Long Beach, Los Angeles. The ship bore the artwork of Modern Warfare 2, as did some shipping containers. It’s quite strange, really, but kind of cool.

Check out the reveal trailer below:

The description reads:

“Task Force 141 makes its massive return with a global squad of iconic veterans, these Operators include Captain John Price, Simon ‘Ghost’ Riley, John ‘Soap’ MacTavish, Kyle ‘Gaz’ Garrick and introducing Mexican Special Forces Colonel Alejandro Vargas.”

In other recent Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 news, recent gameplay leaks made their way into the ether. It seems as if the new game will allow players the ability to admire their guns.

And, some of the maps are now, supposedly, known to us. Highrise, Quarry, Terminal, and Afghan—all from the original Modern Warfare 2—are, apparently, making a return. On top of that, there is apparently a new mode, called DMZ, which is similar to Escape from Tarkov. Activision is clamping down on these leaks, and have had clips taken down already.

So there you have it. Roll on October 28th.
