Last week, Activision defended the then 400,000+ dislikes of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare’s reveal trailer, with CEO Eric Hirshberg spinning fan passion into a positive for the franchise.

“We’ve seen this in the franchise before,” he told investors. “The reveal trailer for Black Ops II, which took the franchise into the future for the first time, had the most dislikes of any reveal trailer we had ever made at that time. And that, of course, went on to become our most successful game ever.”

However, since these comments the dislikes on the trailer have grown rapidly to 1.15 million, from almost 14 million views.

Battlefield 1 dislikes

A look at the Black Ops 2 Reveal Trailer, meanwhile, shows only 60,000 dislikes from 35 million views. Comparisons to EA’s Battlefield 1 reveal also reflect very badly on Infinite Warfare, clocking more than 19 million views and only 18,000 dislikes.
