Call of Duty: Ghosts, Destiny and Skylanders: SWAP Force will form Activision’s Gamescom line-up, the publisher has announced.

“With the next-generation of consoles on the horizon, this is obviously an exciting time for gamers. And there’s no better place to share the incredible slate of games we have coming than Gamescom, where our fans can get hands on with the games and really experience them,” said Eric Hirshberg, CEO of Activision Publishing.

“With Call of Duty: Ghosts, Destiny and Skylanders Swap Force on our slate, we think we’re going to have some of the most talked about and anticipated games at the show.”

Gamescom will host the Call of Duty: Ghosts multiplayer hands-on premiere, just for consumers. Furthermore, in partnership with Xbox and Twitch TV, Activision will deliver a Call of Duty: Ghosts Multiplayer Showcase event streamed live from 17.00 BST on Wednesday, August 21.

Hosted by Aceybongos and Major Nelson, the broadcast will feature live Call of Duty: Ghosts gameplay from professional players across Europe, interviews with the developers from Infinity Ward, and key details on the game. You’ll be able to watch from the Xbox 360 dashboard or over on Twitch.

Destiny won’t be playable, but you will be able to watch a seven-player live-demo set in Old Russia. The demo will take place inside a 192 seat theatre said to be the size of a three-storey house. On day one of the show, Activision and Bungie will also release a new ViDoc entitled “Out Here in the Wild”.

Skylanders SWAP Force will be playable over at Sony’s booth, on both the PS3 and PS4. Angry Birds Star Wars will also be showing its face on the Microsoft booth.

And if that isn’t enough, the Activision booth will feature an interactive Show Mode experience that will display video and gameplay footage from Call of Duty: Ghosts, Destiny and Skylanders SWAP Force in a panoramic 190° cinematic theatre experience.

Gamescom gets underway next Wednesday, August 21.
