Call of Duty Black Ops 4 has kicked off its massive Days of Summer update for the shooter on PlayStation 4, bringing with it a huge chunk of new content for all game modes as well as tweaks to the game.

Headlining the update is the return of the classic Grind map last seen in Black Ops 2 for free for all players, which takes place in an arena featuing a huge skate park. As well as that, Capture the Flag mode has been added to multiplayer playlists, letting two teams fight it out to grab the enemy's flag while retaining their own.

Meanwhile over in Blackout, the map has been given a summer makeover, with new lighting, foilage and decorations as well as changes to the map layout as the area rebuilds after the previous season's flood. A new game mode has been added called Ground War, which pits two teams of 50 against each other on the map, with far more ammo and loot around. Finally, a new Attack Helicopter gives players more options to try and control the skies via its two mounted turrets.

As for Zombies, a brand new Gauntlet has been added, with Labours of Hercules adding 30 new challenges. There's also four new Epic Elixirs as well as new weapons and masterclasses added. Rounding up the update, Treyarch also mention that a long awaited feature in Contracts is set to come in the next update planned for 'late June'.

There's loads more added in this update, far too much to list here, so you can read the full details of this patch over on the official Reddit thread. It's live on PlayStation 4 now, and will be presumably be coming to PC and Xbox after a brief exclusivity period.

Meanwhile, we now know that the next Call of Duty game will be Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.
