Treyarch has confirmed that Blackout, the battle royale offering for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, will be available as a free trial on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One for those interested in taking it for a spin.

Blackout's trial will kick off on January 17 and runs until January 24, during which time you can enjoy the full battle royale experience. It doesn't include Black Ops 4's bread-and-butter multiplayer or Zombies modes, obviously.

In related news, Treyarch has also dropped off a fresh console patch for the military shooter, which tinkers with looting interface in Blackout. In addition, the PS4 version of the game has received Gauntlets and new Elixirs.
