Publisher Activision has revealed that Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will require a whopping 50GB day one patch on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

The update is only applicable to the physical version of the military shooter, and is required in order to get your hands on the regular multiplayer mode, Zombies, and Specialist Headquarters. Digital versions of Black Ops 4 includes the patch as standard, as you'd expect.

Elsewhere, Activision also recommends having around 112GB of free space on your console before downloading.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is due out on October 12 for PS4, PC, and Xbox One. Those of you who grab the game for Sony's console will get new content seven days before other platforms. Get yourself worked up for Black Ops 4 with this new trailer marking 10 years of Zombies.

Meanwhile, next year's Call of Duty game is reportedly going to be a new entry in the Modern Warfare franchise.
