Treyarch has announced that Blackout, the battle royale portion of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, will be free-to-play from today until April 30.
You'll obviously still need to have a subscription to PlayStation Network or Xbox Live, depending on your chosen platform, but other than that, there's no cost attached to Blackout.
It's good timing by Treyarch, as Blackout is receiving a brand new map today for PS4 players. Hopefully it'll turn up on PC and Xbox One before the month's up.
Blackout is the first time Call of Duty has embraced the battle royale genre, and replaces the traditional single-player campaign you'd normally expect from the series. Josh thought it was a gamble that paid off in his review, however.
This year's Call of Duty is rumoured to be a new instalment in the Modern Warfare franchise.
