Call of Duty: Black Ops 3’s campaign will not be included in the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game, Activision has announced.
The old-gen versions of this year’s shooter – in the hands of Beenox and Mercenary Technology – will feature Multiplayer and Zombies only.
“The ambitious scope of the 1-4 player coop Campaign design of the PS4, Xbox One and PC versions could not be faithfully recreated on old generation hardware,” states Activision in a new blog post.
“Delivering the best possible gameplay experience on all platforms is always our highest priority. With that in mind, Black Ops 3 PS3 and Xbox 360 players can continue to look forward to a new experience of Black Ops 3 multiplayer, including the new momentum-based, chain-movement system, as well as the all-new Specialist class of 9 Black Ops soldiers, which fundamentally change the way players engage in combat.”
Other next-gen only features include the new Weapon Paint Shop and the suite of eSports tools.
Black Ops 3 on PS3 and Xbox 360 will include a bonus download for the original Call of Duty: Black Ops.
