Infinity Ward has announced that problems with the PlayStation 3 version of Call of Duty 4, introduced following the recent 2.01 PlayStation 3 firmware, are now fixed.

You should no longer be receiving this error message or any other issues related to the firmware update in the game,” wrote Infinity Ward’s community manager. “Thank you to everyone for giving us the heads up on this so we could start tracking down answers, and getting it resolved and please let us know if you have any additional issues.

This fix is separate to an upcoming patch for both the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions, with promised optimisation of the multiplayer experience and host migration support. Speaking of patches, version 1.2 for the PC version is now available – details here.
