Call of Duty 2 may be one of the Xbox 360’s best selling titles, but that hasn’t stopped a demo of the game from making its way onto Xbox Live Marketplace. The demo is also bandwidth friendly, clocking in at a very reasonable 331MB.

In other Call of Duty 2 news, it seems the much needed multiplayer patch is getting ever nearer to completion. A post on the official Xbox forums from Infinity Ward reads: “We’re happy to report that this update is currently in the final stages of testing and all is going well. In fact, we will be releasing it soon, so stay tuned.“

The forum post also details what enhancement s the patch will include. First off, the lag issues have been addressed, which should make for a more enjoyable online experience. Then come seven new additions to the game:

1. Private Game Lobbies / Reserved Slots

2. Enabled the Live Host to set custom game options

3. Map Preferences setting

4. Post Game Lobbies (all players at end of match will return to their game lobby)

5. Enemy Player Name Notification

6. Ability for the Host to kick a player

7. In game Lobby – Game Type, Map and Host Notifications

There is still no word on exactly when the patch will materialise, but judging from the forum post there shouldn’t be long to wait now.
