Focus Home Interactive has shared an extensive gameplay trailer for upcoming Lovecraftian horror romp Call of Cthulhu.

The video kicks off as protagonist Edward Pierce, a war veteran and struggling alcoholic, arrives at a spooky mansion to try and get to the bottom of the Hawkins family murders. It's clear there's a lot of room for choice, as an encounter with a grumpy groundskeeper (who calls you a 'nosy prick') can go one of many different ways.

We're also shown a number of investigative elements found in Call of Cthulhu, as you poke around the creepy mansion looking for clues and reconstructing scenes to get to the bottom of the mystery.

Obviously, it wouldn't be a Call of Cthulhu game without a creepy tentacle monster, which here teases your descent into the 'abyss of madness.'

Call of Cthulhu is due out for PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One on October 30, which means you have no reason to go out on Halloween this year.
