If you’re a big fan of Bungie, you may be aware of Marathon – the FPS series the studio made before Halo. That being the case, you’ll be happy to know that the second game in the series is now available for free on iOS.
Marathon 2: Durandal offers 28 levels of FPS action, with the player taking the role of an unnamed security officer, guided by a crazy AI in a bid to stop an alien invasion. This new port is absolutely free too, though you’ll have to pay if you want upgraded HD textures.
While obviously not as well known as Halo, the Marathon series still has a large and nostalgic fanbase.
Marathon 2, originally released in 1995, is also notable for being one of the first ever FPS titles to let you dual-wield.
