The BBC has revealed that it’ll be showing a behind the scenes documentary at Bungie, and it’s on BBC Click this Saturday October 22. ‘Making Destiny 2 and beyond’ sees the Destiny developer opening its doors to Newsbeat for a frank discussion about the development of the online-only first-person shooter. It also gives many of us our first look inside the studio behind Destiny and the original Halo trilogy.

Bungie’s co-founder, Jason Jones, told Newsbeat that the developer had ‘absolutely’ taken the ‘criticisms of the original Destiny to heart.’ Jones continued, saying that, ‘We knew it had amazing parts… but we also saw the real mistakes we made.’

The documentary sees the studio discussing responses to the original game’s story, and how it has tried to fix this in Destiny 2. Bungie also speaks about the importance of quality and quantity in the content for the sequel, and this is an important factor considering the disgruntlement the original drew for its rinse-and-repeat approach to delivering missions and content.

Destiny 2 seems to have improved on many problems of the original, and so far Bungie seems to be doing a decent job with content. That said, it’d be nice if they stopped performing weekly maintenance just when Europe is getting home.

Making Destiny 2 and beyond will be shown on BBC Click on October 22. There’s no confirmation what time it’ll be on, so we’ll keep checking and update this piece once we find out.
