Rockstar Games has announced the winter release of Bully: Scholarship Edition, which appears to be based on the previously released PlayStation 2 game with additional new content.

Bully: Scholarship edition takes place in the fictional New England boarding school of Bullworth Academy and tells the story of 15-year-old Jimmy Hopkins. The original PS2 game was acclaimed by the video game press for its originality, humour and re-creation of the school experience.

There’s no word on any platform specific features just yet, but we can assume the game will be given some next-gen polish on the Xbox 360, while the Wii game is likely to feature a reworked control scheme.

Bully: Scholarship Edition is scheduled for release this winter.
