Marvel Rivals Season 2 brought a new Cerebro Database event, an exciting limited-time challenge that runs until May 9. This X-Men-themed event challenges players to complete quests across four Cerebro Files—centered on Emma Frost, Wolverine, Black Panther, and Namor—to obtain rare items, including the highly sought-after Flora Maiden Mantis skin.

This free, plant-inspired epic cosmetic, available after completing all four files, has piqued players’ interest, with its brilliant green and gold design honoring Mantis’ strategist role. Each file has nine missions organized in a 3×3 grid, where making three lines (horizontal, vertical, or diagonal) unlocks rewards such as Chrono Tokens, sprays, and gallery cards, while remaining chores are auto-completed for efficiency.

The event’s rollout, however, met a stumbling block with a certain mission that caused progress on specific tasks to be inconsistent or unregistered. NetEase quickly addressed the issue through a new patch, releasing to resolve the tracking inaccuracies, allowing players to progress seamlessly.

Marvel Rivals finally fixes bugged Emma Frost mission that fails to recognize her as a mutant

On April 24, 2025, NetEase released a content patch for Marvel Rivals Season 2, which fixed a troublesome glitch in the Cerebro Database event’s Challenge 4, Mission 5. This objective demands players to deal 10,000 damage as a mutant in Quick Match, Competitive, or Practice VS. AI modes.

Initially, Emma Frost, the season’s headlining Vanguard hero and a core X-Men mutant, was not recognized as a mutant, therefore, her damage did not count toward the goal. This inaccuracy perplexed players, given Emma’s important role in the Hellfire Gala-themed season and her mutant abilities, which include telepathy and diamond-form metamorphosis.

The omission slowed progress for individuals attempting to complete the Cerebro Files in order to earn the free Flora Maiden Mantis skin. The patch, which was deployed without server delay, adds the mutant tag to Emma Frost, guaranteeing that her damage is now registered for Mission 5.

This modification enables players to use Emma’s dynamic powers, such as Telepathic Pulse and Diamond Form, to complete missions more efficiently. The fix was well-received, restoring momentum for players tackling the event’s four Cerebro Files, which also include Wolverine, Black Panther, and Namor.

With the event’s deadline nearing, the update provides a fulfilling experience, allowing players to fully interact with mutant-focused tasks and earn rewards such as Chrono Tokens, sprays, and the coveted Mantis skin.
