EA and Double Fine Productions today announced that Brutal Legend will be released on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 across Europe on October 16. The game will arrive in North America a few days earlier on October 13.
“Wooo! Having an official release date is awesome!” said Tim Schafer, President of Double Fine Productions. “And how cool is it that EA threw down the dough to have the name of an entire month changed to Rocktober?”
Brutal Legend is a third-person action game in which players take on the role of roadie Eddie Riggs, played by Jack Black. One night, a stage accident knocks Eddie unconscious, and he awakens in a world where every Heavy Metal album cover and lyric Eddie knows has come to life. The evil emperor Doviculus and his demon army, The Tainted Coil, have enslaved the last remaining humans and it’s up to Eddie to save the day.
