A sequel to heavy metal action game Brutal Legend would become more possible if Psychonauts 2 is a success, developer Double Fine has said.
Posting in a Q&A on the fig funding page for Psychonauts 2, the developer wrote: “We’ve always said that we wanted to make sequels to both Psychonauts and Brutal Legend. We can’t make any promises but if Psychonauts is a success for us, then perhaps Brutal Legend 2 will be more possible?”
Double Fine boss Tim Schafer has previously said that Brutal Legend cost around $25 million to make, which is around double what the studio has said it will cost to do justice to the Psychonauts sequel.
