Revolution Software has announced the release of Broken Sword: The Director’s Cut for iPhone and iPod touch.

Developed specifically for iPhone and iPod touch, Broken Sword: The Director’s Cut is an update of the classic globe-trotting adventure starring George Stobbard and Nico Collard.

“I am very proud that the game, and indeed the whole series, has maintained such a loyal following,” said Charles Cecil, managing director, Revolution Software. “Since the launch of iPhone we have been bombarded with requests from fans to produce an app and the innovative Multi-Touch user interface is perfect for an adventure game – it really works very well.”

Broken Sword: The Director’s Cut benefits from the introduction of new cutscenes and animations from celebrated comic book artist Dave Gibbons. A context-sensitive help system offers a range of in-game hints for those stumped by the game’s puzzles.

The game is also approximately 20 per cent longer thanks to new content not featured in the original game, and utilises an improved version of the control scheme premiered in Beneath a Steel Sky – Remastered.

Broken Sword: The Director’s Cut is available now in the UK, Europe, and US for £3.99 / €5.49 / $6.99 from Apple’s App Store.
