The developer behind Overwatch has lifted the curtains on the latest character to join the ranks of the perennially popular shooter: Say hello to Brigitte Lindholm.
Blizzard Entertainment’s official blurb describes Brigitte as an ‘engineer with peerless armour-constructing abilities’ who has no qualms with getting down and dirty on the front lines to help protect her teammates. She’s apparently a ‘stalwart support hero’ who can hold her own in battle while also providing handy armour and healing perks for her allies.
Brigitte wields a ‘heavy-hitting Rocket Flail’ as her primary weapon, which allows her to hit multiple enemies at once by swinging it in a huge arc in front of her. Meanwhile, landing blows with her Whip Shot ability will let you heal nearby allies overtime using her Inspire passive technique.
Elsewhere, she can deploy a Barrier Shield that is able to soak up a limited amount of damage and protect anyone behind her. In addition, Brigitte can also execute a Shield Bash in this state to stun the first enemy directly in front of her.
Finally, Brigitte’s ultimate ability, Rally, is described as ‘a galvanizing call to arms that generates a substantial amount of armour for nearby allies and increases Brigitte’s movement speed so she can lead them into battle.’
