NetEase Games’ Marvel Rivals continues to go full steam ahead, demolishing competitors like Overwatch with ease. With the launch period now over with, the game’s developers have confirmed Marvel Rivals Season 1 – Eternal Night Falls as the first major addition to the game, bringing the Fantastic Four, a new map and more.

Marvel Rivals Season 1 release date

Confirmed by NetEase on Twitter, the new season will see the addition of a brand-new map, a vampiric New York decimated by dark forces. Alongside the new map, the Fantastic Four will finally join the fray. Following massive leaks of the family of Marvel superheroes, players will be able to play as the iconic team very soon.

Coming on January 10th, 2025 at 1 AM PST, the new season will launch alongside a themed event. As expected, the Fantastic Four will be available to all Marvel Rivals players as no heroes will be locked behind any form of paywall.

“Darkness engulfs New York as the Timestream Entanglement leaves Doctor Strange trapped in the Entangled Astral Plane, scattering the Darkhold pages. Dracula and Doctor Doom disrupt the moon’s orbit, plunging the city into eternal night and unleashing an army of vampiric creatures,” reads the event’s official synopsis. “With the world on the brink, the Fantastic Four join forces with iconic Marvel heroes, standing together in the epic battle to break the mystical darkness with science. Ignite the battle against Dracula with the Fantastic Four in Marvel Rivals!”

Fantastic Four join Marvel Rivals

On the release of Season 1 – Eternal Night Falls, two members of the Fantastic Four will be available to play as: Mr. Fantastic and Invisible Woman. During the mid-season update, the other two members – the Human Torch and The Thing – will be added to the game for all players to enjoy.

Following previous leaks of the characters, players will be able to play as all four Fantastic Four members during Season 1. Of course, playing as the entire team of Marvel’s debut superhero family will also give bonuses during gameplay – think of the ending of Tim Story’s 2005 cult classic.

Of course, Marvel Rivals Season 1 – Eternal Night Falls will also be host to a number of events, but none of these have been confirmed at the time of publication.
