In the nine week period following the game’s release in Europe on June 9, Brain Training has amassed sales of more than 500,000 copies. Nintendo also reports that a further 60,000 copies are selling across Europe each week. The European success bettered that of Japan, where it took 16 weeks to sell 500,000 copies – although it has gone on to sell more than 3 million units.

We are delighted that Dr. Kawashima’s Brain Training has been such a huge success in Europe with thousands of people training their brains with this unique title,” said Laurent Fischer, Marketing Director for Nintendo Europe commented. “We hope that the continued success of this and other Touch! Generations software will help gaming as an industry expand and begin to appeal to entirely new audiences.

The DS Lite has also been a huge success for Nintendo in Europe, where sales of the new handheld have totalled around 140,000 each week since its June 23 debut.
