Microsoft has announced that this week’s new Xbox LIVE Arcade releases will be Gameloft’s Brain Challenge and Codemasters’ Bliss Island.

Brain Challenge is described as a brain training program that helps players develop stress-management skills through a range of games. The game acts as a personal coach and helps players develop skills in five key areas: logic, maths, memory, visual thinking and concentration.

As is found in the Training series on Nintendo DS, Brain Challenge also features a daily test mode designed to stimulate regular improvements in the five key areas. The game also includes a stress mode, designed to test the player’s ability to stay calm under stressful conditions.

There are also some less taxing modes of play: Creative Mode enables players to explore their imagination, while Child Test makes it possible for adult players to share the exercises with younger players. There’s also a host of online and local multiplayer game modes for up to four players.

Brain Challenge will be available from Wednesday March 12 priced 800 MS Points.

The week’s second release, Bliss Island, sees players taking control of Hoshi the Zwooph, a mystical blue creature that emits precise puffs of air to create clouds. Players will need to guide Hoshi to become the Bliss Island champion by winning 25 unique challenges. Players can also take the challenge online to compete against friends and the online leaderboards.

Bliss Island will be available from Wednesday March 12 priced only 400 MS Points.
