Take Two has announced that Borderlands, the ambitious PC, Xbox 360 and PC FPS, has slipped from its planned fiscal 2008 release to sometime in 2009. Take Two’s fiscal 2008 ends on October 31, 2008, which means the game is now lined-up for release anytime in the twelve month period that follows.

Take Two says the delay was made “in order to allow additional development time for this highly anticipated game and provide a better balance in the release of Take-Two’s triple-A titles”

We liked what we saw of the game back in 2007 with Gearbox certainly setting high targets for the project. If the delay ensures a more polished game then it can only be a positive thing.
