UPDATE: Whoops. Turns out that 2K jumped the gun on its announcement, deleting the tweet and confirming that the March 18 date is “incorrect”.
“We apologise for a tweet about a release date for Borderlands 2 on Vita which was posted in error,” the publisher clarified. “The release date mentioned is incorrect.”
VideoGamer.com is still waiting to hear back from 2K UK about an official release date.
ORIGINAL REPORT: The PlayStation Vita port of Borderlands 2 will release on March 18, 2K has confirmed.
The date falls on a Tuesday, suggesting that it could be a North American release date. VideoGamer.com has contacted 2K UK for clarification.
Little is known about the PS Vita version of Gearbox’s social shooter other than it’s in development at Divekick creator Iron Galaxy Studios and promises to put the four-player co-op looter-shooter straight into the palms of players’ hands.
Footage and screenshots of the PS Vita port have yet to be released.
