Borderlands 2 fans can celebrate as Gearbox has confirmed that the game will receive additional DLC beyond the four previously launched as part of the game’s Season Pass.

“Everyone was under the expectations that those would be the four DLCs and that’s it,” Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford told the Nerdist podcast. “We are going to do more, we are going to do some other things. I don’t have details exactly of it yet cause were not ready to announce what the other things are.

“We got more stuff in the hopper that we’re planning and getting pretty excited about. So if you’re a Borderlands 2 fan you don’t have to be afraid that that’s the end of it.”

The Borderlands 2 Season Pass included access to Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate’s Booty, Mr. Torgue’s Campaign of Carnage, Sir Hammerlock’s Big Game Hunt, and Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep.

In addition, Gearbox released some content outside of the major DLC packs, including Gaige the Mechromancer and Krieg the Psycho, the Creature Slaughter Dome, the Ultimate Vault Hunter Pack, and various character skins and heads.

As well as developing further DLC for Borderlands 2, Gearbox is currently developing a new IP for PS4 and Xbox One.
