Developer Team Reptile has dropped a new teaser trailer for Bomb Rush Cyberfunk, showcasing the various movestyles youâll be able to use to leave your mark when the game launches later this year.
While the game is quite naked about wanting to be a spiritual successor to Jet Set Radio, itâs not going to restrict itself to just roller skates as that title did. To that end, youâll be able to switch things up with skateboarding, BMX and of course inline skating, all with their own tricks. Youâll even be able to run about on your good old-fashioned legs, if you choose.
The gameâs director, Dion Koster, explains the addition of these other modes of transport in an accompanying blog post. âAs you know BRC is a game about the street. Wherever you are from, chances are you grew up going out to the local skatepark, scratching your name on the bins at school or hanging out at the mall, dancing, before heading back home to do some extreme tricks in your favourite video game.â
âMaybe it got you to the point that you are now hitting up the big spots in your own way! Bomb Rush Cyberfunk is a big street culture symphony of these feelings. In that spirit I have decided to include skateboarding, BMX and inline skating in the game.â
You can check out the new teaser for yourself down below. Bomb Rush Cyberfunk still doesnât have a release date outside of 2022 just yet, but itâll land on PC and Nintendo Switch first. Other platforms are yet to be confirmed, but will follow âabout a weekâ later.
