Infamous movie director Uwe Boll has revealed to MTV Movies Blog that he approached Blizzard to buy the movie rights for a World of Warcraft movie. Thankfully he was unsuccessful.

“I got in contact with Paul Sams of Blizzard, and he said, ‘We will not sell the movie rights, not to you…especially not to you,'” Boll told MTV. “Because it’s such a big online game success, maybe a bad movie would destroy that ongoing income, what the company has with it.”

Back in 2006 it was announced that Blizzard had stuck a deal with Warner Bros.’ Legendary Pictures to turn the massively multiplayer online role-playing game into a major motion picture. Blizzard CEO Paul Sams said the goal was to make “one of the best films in the world”.
