It’s been revealed that Mistwalker and Microsoft’s Xbox 360 RPG Blue Dragon is to be made into an animated TV series for Japanese audiences. Since its release back in December 2006, Blue Dragon has sold approximately 170,000 units in Japan – an impressive figure considering the Xbox 360 is failing to attract much of a following.

Mistwalker founder Hironobu Sakaguchi, character designer Akira Toriyama and composer Nobou Uematsu will each be involved in some form.

The Blue Dragon animated series will begin on April 7 and will air each Saturday at 9am on Television Tokyo.
