Blockbuster has announced their new reward scheme, Blockbuster VIP Gamer, which will offer customers the ability to earn money off purchases both in store and online.
Those who sign up to the reward scheme are rewarded for their gaming behaviour and knowledge, not just spending money. In addition to earning 100 points for every £1 spent in-store and online on gaming products, they receive points for trade-ins as well as watching the latest trailers, rating their favourite games and even for entering competitions.
Signing up alone is rewarded with 2,500 points.
Customers are given a range of rewards that their points can be spent on. As more points are achieved, users climb through eight levels of rewards. For example, points can be used against free game rentals in-store, a £5 off voucher for any pre-owned game over £25 and at the top end of the scale, they can get a free Xbox 360 for 360,000 points.
Cat Kebbeh, head of marketing at Blockbuster said: “We know gamers and are sure that they will find our reward scheme better than anything they have seen before. In this competitive market, customers demand the best and we want to engage with them and reward their loyalty with us.”
To celebrate the launch of the Blockbuster VIP Gamer initiative, there will be a number of exclusive competitions giving members the chance to win two of the most popular games of the year, Mass Effect 3 and Prototype 2, as well as a host of consoles.
