Speaking at the Morgan Stanley Technology Conference in California, Activision CEO Bobby Kotick revealed plans to utilise Blizzard’s “institutional expertise” to bring PC editions of Guitar Hero to “roughly 300,000 game rooms between China and Korea.”

It’s not clear if this means the game will feature some form on MMO element, or if the company will simply capitalise on Blizzard’s popularity and user base to sell its Guitar Hero games.

Kotick later added that Guitar Hero is the “best-selling game” Activision has ever had, and got tongues wagging by referring to the game’s controllers as instruments and not guitars.

Could Activision be prepping more instrument-based controllers to offer an experience similar to that of EA’s Rock Band? Activision is staying tight lipped, but we’re confident gamers will be playing more than just a guitar in future “Hero” titles.
