Blizzard has refused to comment on internet rumours suggesting that development on StarCraft II has been scaled back in favour of Diablo III.

Earlier today battleforums.com carried quotes from an ‘anonymous source from inside Blizzard’ that said: “Starcraft 2 is still being worked on, but only by a minuscule amount of people compared to what Blizzard put on the Diablo 3 team.”

However, when contacted by VideoGamer.com this afternoon, Blizzard issued the standard: “we do not comment on internet rumour and speculation”.

We’ll have to wait and see on this one. If true, it would suggest that massively anticipated dungeon crawler Diablo III will be out before RTS StarCraft II, which is a reversal in expected release timings.
