We’re not known for our interest in American football here in the UK, but this hasn’t stopped Midway from bringing its bone-crushing Blitz series to these shores. Blitz: The League on the Xbox 360 takes players behind the glitz and glamour of professional American football, exploring the on-field violence, off-field fallout and front-office politics.

Players have the ability to create and develop the greatest teams in the League’s history using a wealth of customisable options as you push to take your team to the top. In addition to a fully-featured single-player career mode, the game supports multiplayer action over Xbox Live and on a single system.

Blitz: The League is free of the constraints that an official league license levies against games in this sporting genre. The result is about as far removed from a clean, fair, sporting experience as it’s possible to get – one of the many reasons why this game has been such a storming success in the US with sales of 1 million units, and why consumers have demanded we release it in Europe,” said Martin Spiess, Managing Director – Europe, Midway Games Ltd.

Blitz: The League for the Xbox 360 will be released across Europe on February 23 for the low retail price of £29.99.
