Call of Duty: Black Ops 3’s Season Pass will only be available on PS4, Xbox One and PC, Activision has confirmed, but it remains unclear whether individual map packs will continue to be offered on Xbox 360 and PS3.
Confirmation follows a listing on the Xbox Store last week that revealed that Black Ops 3’s Season Pass and The Giant Zombies map would not be available on Xbox 360, prompting speculation that Activision is to skip DLC on last-gen platforms.
But in a statement provided to VideoGamer.com this morning, Activision said:
“Season Pass will be available only on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC platforms. Availability of individual DLC packs for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 platforms may vary. More information will be announced at a later date.”
While Activision’s comments confirm that a Season Pass will not be available on last-gen platforms, it doesn’t offer much in the way of clarification over whether future map packs will be available to download separately.
If Activision was to cut DLC for the last-gen versions, it wouldn’t come as too much of a surprise. The publisher has already confirmed that the Xbox 360 and PS3 games will not include a Campaign mode, instead containing just Multiplayer and Zombies.
The last-gen versions are also targeting a 30fps frame rate, half the speed of every other game in the franchise.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 launches on PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3 and PC next Friday, November 6.
