Call of Duty: Black Ops 2’s first DLC pack will release on Xbox LIVE on January 29, Activision has confirmed.

Revolution features four new multiplayer maps, a brand new Zombies map and mode, and one new weapon, the Peacekeeper.

“With Black Ops II, the team set out to challenge assumptions about what fans should expect from Call of Duty, and there’s no exception with Revolution,” said Treyarch studio head Mark Lamia.

“It starts with the massive amount of content that Revolution offers: four distinct multiplayer maps, an entirely new Zombies map and new Zombies mode, and a new bonus weapon. But quantity is just the start – it’s the variety of new gameplay options in Revolution that sets it apart, making it our most compelling DLC offering to date, and a must-play experience for Call of Duty fans.”

Multiplayer maps Hydro, Downhill, Mirage and Grind takes the battle to a hydroelectric dam, the French Alps, the Gobi Desert and a skate park in California’s Venice Beach.

Meanwhile, Zombies’ new Die Rise map sees players fighting off the undead in a destroyed Chinese city with upgradeable ‘Wonder Weaponry’, while a new game mode, Turned, lets players step into the role of a zombie to take down the survivors.

A release date for the pack on other formats has yet to be confirmed by Activision, but a GameStop mailout has confirmed it’ll launch on PS3 and PC on February 28. A Wii U release is still unconfirmed.

Details of the pack were first spotted on a promotional poster in the US, and later leaked by an Amazon UK listing.
