HMV’s Oxford Street store will be host to the official retail launch of Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, next Monday, November 12, Activision has announced.

Developers from Treyarch will be on hand to sign copies of Black Ops 2, and players will be invited to participate in 4 vs 4 multiplayer matches and a Zombies Tournament, where they’ll have the opportunity to win exclusive prizes.

HMV also promises an “in store Zombie invasion”, and a Zombie bus stop featuring props inspired by the game.

Doors open at 22:00 GMT on Monday night.

“This is undoubtedly the games release of the year,” said HMV’s category manager for games, Andy Pinder, “which is great news not just for fans but retailers alike as we head into Christmas.”

HMV rival GAME is set to host the official launch of Halo 4 tonight at its Westfield Stratford store, following a “spectacular stunt” on the River Thames to mark the game’s release.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 launches on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC next Tuesday, November 13. A Wii U version is also expected on November 30.
