BioWare has announced Dragon Age Legends, a new Play4Free Facebook game that expands on the acclaimed Dragon Age franchise.
Inspired by the hardcore RPG, Legends has been custom-designed for the casual and social play style of Facebook users, blending accessible tactical combat with co-operative gameplay.
Dragon Age Legends will give players their first taste of the Free Marches, the primary setting of Dragon Age II. Alongside their Facebook friends, players will take on quests, earning loot, sharing rewards and growing their kingdom.
Players of the Facebook game will also be able to earn exclusive unlocks for Dragon Age II.
Dragon Age Legends will launch in February, followed by Dragon Age II for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC on March 11.
Dragon Age is very much a hardcore franchise, but through the Facebook game EA and BioWare will be hoping to broaden the appeal of the brand, perhaps turning a casual gamer into a big enough fan to give the console/PC games a go.
