A pair of Tweets from BioWare staffers have teased fans with news of a secret feature, but what could it be?
First came a Tweet from Billy Buskell, assistant producer on the Mass Effect franchise, who said: “With @PWatamaniuk back in the studio this week, our team was plugging away on Secret Feature X. Gameplay room was buzzing! #excited #ME3”
Next came a Tweet from Preston Watamaniuk, lead designer of the Mass Effect series.
“Writing the spec doc for Secret Feature X this morning,” Tweeted Watamaniuk. “The easier it is to write a detailed spec the more confident I am in the design.”
Those thinking secret feature X relates to multiplayer might want to think again. According to the ME3News Twitter – based on the Confirmed Features thread from BioWare Social Network – Buskell and Watamaniuk aren’t talking about a multiplayer feature. But what about co-op?
Mass Effect 3 is scheduled for release March 9, 2012 for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC, but fans will get the chance to try out the title at GAMEfest this September.
It’s also unlikely this is the end for the franchise, with BioWare stating it’s seeking the right way to continue Mass Effect.
