Sniper Elite developer Rebellion is preparing to make a “big announcement” later today, CEO Jason Kingsley has teased.
“Big Rebellion announcement later on today,” Kingsley wrote on Twitter this afternoon. “Interested to see how industry and players react. ‘Stay tuned’ and other comms cliches etc.”
Kingsley’s comments follow weeks after he revealed to VideoGamer that the company is “gearing up to announce a new Rebellion game soon”, before hinting at a major reveal prior to GDC. This is probably it.
But what could it be? Last month, VideoGamer spotted unannounced sequel Sniper Elite 4 on the CV of an employee at a Chinese digital arts company. The reference was later removed.
Besides Sniper Elite, however, Rebellion is also known for its work on Alien vs Predator, Battlezone and 2000 AD. Whatever it is, look out for more info later today.
