FireSky has announced that it is now taking registrations to take part in the Stargate Worlds closed beta test.

The closed beta is invitation only, with those selected set to receive access to the highly anticipated MMO in the spring and summer of this year. Testers will provide feedback to the development team about the game experience while also helping to test the performance of the game servers.

A small group of core testers will slowly expand as more functionality is added.

“A game is nothing without players. We’re fired up to finally get our game in the hands of the community,” said Dan Elggren, Stargate Worlds studio head. “We’re at the point where we need external testers to take Stargate Worlds to the finish line.

If you’re interested in taking part in the closed beta you can register interest over on the game’s official website.

Stargate Worlds is based on the award-winning Stargate franchise from MGM and is scheduled to launch in winter 2008.
