Beat Saber’s latest DLC Music Pack is inspired by Rocket League and created in collaboration with Monstercat (via Twinfinite).

For the uninitiated, Beat Saber is a virtual reality rhythm game and the player wields lightsabers by using the motion controller. Oncoming blocks in different places, colours, and orientations are in sync with the song’s beats and notes. Slashing these blocks correctly awards points dependent on the accuracy and the angle of the cut. Mines will pop up in some levels, and oncoming walls will add a new challenge. If this sounds rad, then you should see it in action, because the neon-noir environment is super slick and stylish.

Previous Beat Saber DLC Music Packs have included songs by Imagine Dragons and Panic! At the Disco, but this time, developer Beat Games and developer Psyonix have delivered an incredible mashup. It’s a Rocket League-themed pack of six songs. Beat Games said it was a cake walk: ‘both well-known video game hits defining its genres; set in the futuristic dark scene; the competitive character is what makes the game experience even better, and of course: our teams just love pulsing beats boosting the immersion to the next level.’

Heck, yeah. In collaboration with electronic dance label Monstercat, the pack boasts a mix of popular songs with fresh new releases. There’s ‘PLAY’ and ‘ROCK IT’ by Tokio Machine, ‘Glide’ by Stephen Walking, ‘LUV U NEED U’ by Slushii, ‘Shiawase’ by Dion Timmer, and ‘Test Me’ by Slushii and Dion Timmer. This bundle is priced at $8.99 or £7.26, depending on the coins you like to use. Rocket League players shouldn’t feel short-changed, though. Logging into that game will offer a free Topper and Boost with iconic Beat Saber cubes and original slashing sounds customisation option.

Beat Saber is out now for PlayStation 4. Watch the Rocket League Music Pack trailer below.
