In the latest issue of Famitsu Xbox 360 Itagaki has said that his team is already working on the opening and ending scenes for the sequel to Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball, and he is currently implementing some new ideas to the original design of the game. At this stage Itagaki hasn’t confirmed when we can expect to see the game in stores.

Itagaki also openly discussed the delays which Dead or Alive 4 suffered leading up to its release, admitting that missing the Japanese Xbox 360 launch hurt the console considerably. He also confirmed that despite the delays the game does suffer from some issues when playing on Xbox Live, and Team Ninja is hard at work trying to fix these problems. However, it is unclear if the problems lie with the game or with the Xbox Live service. Itagaki said that the first planned update for Dead or Alive 4 is scheduled for mid February, and should include several bug fixes and some minor changes to the game’s interface.

Plans to release new outfits for the game have been put on hold, but should new costumes ever be made available they will come at a price. As for the title to follow Beach Volleyball, Itagaki did say it would be an action game, but hinted that it would not be a sequel to Ninja Gaiden.
