Battletech, the turn-based mech combat title from developer Harebrained Schemes, will launch for PC on April 24, publisher Paradox Entertainment has announced.

Billed as the ‘next-generation’ of tactical mech-powered video games, Battletech sees you hopping into the boots of a mercenary boss on the edge of civilised space, where you carry out various contracts while concurrently keeping your ‘Mechwarriors happy and your operations prosperous.’

‘The entire team at Harebrained Schemes has been eagerly awaiting the day we deliver BATTLETECH to long time fans and introduce the joy of tactical ‘Mech combat and deadly interstellar politics to new ones,’ commented Harebrained Schemes boss and MechWarrior & Battletech universe creator, Jordan Weisman.

‘We’re massively thankful to our Kickstarter backers and fans of the MechWarrior legacy. Without their patience, dedication and support, this modern turn-based BATTLETECH wouldn’t soon be launching on PC and Mac.’

To celebrate the date, Harebrained Schemes has polished off a brand new cinematic trailer for the game, which you can have a butcher’s at below. Battletech will be available on PC and Mac for $39.99.
