Bigpoint, the publisher behind free-to-play MMOs Battlestar Galactica Online and Drakensang Online, has surpassed 250,000,000 registered users internationally.

The number is based on the amount of users who have signed up to play one of the company’s 60 free-to-play, browser based titles.

The publisher has been a major proponent of free-to-play models, going so far as to say that major publishers like EA simply don’t get it, referring to how to create and monetise free models.

Registered users doesn’t exactly tell you how many people are actually playing there game though. Despite the big number, all this tells you is many people signed up for free things.
