Battlefield V’s next expansion is Chapter 5: War in the Pacific, and it will bring new maps, new factions, new rewards, and new challenges to the game (via GameSpot).

War in the Pacific does what it says on the tin: two new factions of the U.S. Armed Forces and the Imperial Japanese Army will battle fiercely on three new maps set in the Pacific. The Iwo Jima map is a concentrated and channelled king of the hill style map, whereas Pacific Storm will be inspired by Paracel Storm from Battlefield 4 and spark dangerous weather conditions. The third map, Wake Island, will be coming in December which is fantastic news for those fans who are devoted to the series.

The M1 Garand, Type 99 Arisaka, Type 100, and the M1919A6 will be included with War in the Pacific when it launches. EA has also boasted that even more weaponry is coming to the game with the expansion, like M3 Grease Gun, Nambu Type 2A, Type 97 LMG, and the Jungle Carbine. The last of these is a Chapter Reward, along with the Epic Nighthawk outfit, the Model 27 sidearm, and more. Weekly Challenges will be added too, and these offer the chance to snag experience points and other armaments by successfully completing them.

Two new Elite skins, Jack Culver and Keisuke Nakamura, will arrive in the game at a later date as part of the War in the Pacific pack. And, two new Battle Pickups are on their way. These are the katana and the M2 Flamethrower that will only be located on the battlefield and either faction are able to wield them.

Amphibious warfare was vital to the Pacific invasion, and Battlefield V will receive the LVT and Ka-Mi Light Amphibious Tanks, as well as the M4 Sherman and Type 97 tanks. Taking to the skies, the U.S. Armed Forces will use the new F4U Corsair whereas the IJA will use the Zero Fighter. Both come in a fighter and a bomber specialisation.

All of this information can be viewed on EA’s official guide to Chapter 5: War in the Pacific. It will touch down on October 31 and will be free to all players.

Battlefield V is out now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
