EA has announced the details and launched a trailer for its upcoming new Mercury map for Battlefield V, which is set to come in a free title update later this week.

Set during the events of Operation Mercury in 1941, the map is set on the island of Crete and sees the British taking on the Germans on a coastal map made for 'all out war'. There's a mansion overlooking some olive groves, a cove, a radar site, marina and village to fight over, with shades of classic maps from previous titles in the Battlefield series.

The new map comes as part of the Chapter 3 – Trial by Fire update, set for May 30 which will then be followed by Chapter 4 – Defying the Odds update as per the game's update development roadmap revealed earlier this year.

Battlefield V is currently available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
