Battlefield Hardline is suffering from server connectivity issues as a result of a DDoS attack, EA and Visceral have said.

“We are aware of #BFHardline connectivity issues on Xbox One. We’ve got our best on it and hope to resolve soon. Thanks for your patience,” reads a tweet from the Battlefield account six hours ago.

A few hours later a tweet explained the reason for the issues.

“We’ve identified the connectivity issues on Xbox One are due to DDoS attack and working to resolve. Apologies for the inconvenience.”

So far reports of connectivity issues aren’t so widespread to cause major player dissatisfaction, but after the problems DICE faced with Battlefield 4’s launch this isn’t what publisher EA would have been hoping for.

The game arrives in UK stores on Friday.
