DICE Studio, of Battlefield fame, has told VideoGamer.com that Sony’s PS3 is an “edgy” platform and “brings out a lot of things” that upcoming parkour-inspired first person game Mirror’s Edge “is all about”.
Speaking to VideoGamer.com following his presentation to the world’s media at Sony’s recent PlayStation Day in London, Sean Decker, general manager of DICE, said that PlayStation is a “hit brand” and the PS3 is “just a great platform to play with”.
Mirror’s Edge, planned for release on the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC, was showcased at the Sony event despite it being an EA published multiplatform game. When we quizzed Decker about this he said:
“I think it was a good showcase as far as Sony’s a great partner for us. Everything I said up on stage we absolutely believe in. It’s just a great platform to play with and I think it really brings out a lot of things that Mirror’s Edge is all about. It’s an edgy platform, Sony is a hit brand. The game isn’t your typical let’s get in the mud shooter that we’ve done in the past and so it felt like a really good fit.”
Mirror’s Edge is described as an action adventure game in first person. You play Faith, a runner, whose athletic ability to jump from rooftop to rooftop lends the game a parkour feel.
EA released the game’s first trailer at PlayStation Day, with in-game footage showing how it will work.

Mirror’s Edge is scheduled for release on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.
