A sequel to Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is not in active development, EA has confirmed.
Confirmation came via the official Battlefield Twitter account over the weekend, which tweeted: “We love the Bad Company series, but don’t have it in active development. Battlefield 4 is our main focus for the year.”
The Bad Company series is known fondly for its light-hearted tone and comedy cast. The last title, Battlefield: Bad Company 2, released in March 2010.

Nevertheless, EA’s comments don’t rule out a return to the series at some point in the future. Last year, DICE executive producer Patrick Bach said that the series was “very dear” to him but that he had “no information with where we are to a sequel”.
The latest Battlefield title, Battlefield 4, goes on sale on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC this October. Release dates for the Xbox One and PS4 versions are yet to be announced.
