Battlefield 6 may be one of most highly anticipated Battlefields to date, with some suggesting it may even beat out the ever present Call of Duty this year in terms of sales.
However, with the launch time arriving, the age-old question of if the servers will hold up arises. The answer is they’re on fire.
Yes, that’s right, even with enough time to prepare post-beta, it seems that even EA hasn’t managed to open up enough servers for players, with hundreds of thousands either sitting in a queue or encountering error codes.
Battlefield 6 servers are fully clogged on launch
If you’ve been sitting at your monitor watching the clock in preparation for Battlefield 6, you will have to deal with a server queue, even if you pushed that launch button at the exact time of release.
I, myself, booted up the game at exactly 8 AM PT (4 PM BST) and was met with a 400,000 queue that made me almost fall out of my seat. This did go down quite rapidly and I was able to get to playing after approximately ten minutes of wait time, but still frustrating all the same.
However, it appears that I was one of the lucky ones. Many eager fans not only waited in that queue but after making it to zero, were then met with an “undefined” error code that put them right to the back of the line. This could then happen again and again, compounding the annoyance.
Queues are somewhat expected for games this day in age but based on the fact that the beta had a peak of over 500,000 players on Steam, this should have been an indicator for how the network team should have prepared.
All you can hope for now is that if you have gotten in, no one pulls out the router power cord, or you’ll be waiting until sundown to get a match in.
Can you fix Battlefield 6 launch error codes or server queues?
The extremely short answer to this is no, you sadly can’t skirt around the server queues like you potentially could lining up in real life. This is the same for error codes too as of the time of writing — it’s simply a stakeout before virtual warfare begins.
The only ‘fix’ we’ve seen to avoid error codes on PC is to launch the game via the EA app rather than Steam as most have seen success via the dedicated software rather than booting through a ‘third party’.
If you are stuck in the queue, you might as well kill some time watching those who have managed to get in on Twitch, securing some Drops in the process.
